Zatímco nevinnost a křehkost bíle labutě jsou pro ni přirozené, smyslnost a temnost černé daleko více sedí její konkurentce Lily (Mila Kunis). Rivalita mezi tanečnicemi se mění ve vzájemnou posedlost a Nina začíná ztrácet kontrolu.

Psychologický thriller režiséra Darrena Aronofskyho nabízí drásavou studii zhroucení hlavní hrdinky. Natalie Portman za roli tanečnice, která nedokáže oddělit své skutečné touhy od očekávání ostatních, získala svého prozatím jediného Oscara.
